Singapore: Country Brief
Synopsis
Singapore has all the makings of a serious space nation. Its active spacecraft include government and commercial Earth observation satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), a commercial communications satellite in geostationary orbit (GEO), and multiple technology demonstration environmental monitoring satellites built by Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. In addition to incentivizing local commercial space development, Singapore has used existing commercial space systems and services, local or foreign, to meet government needs. Other space players should take note of Singapore’s potential for development because it may be a compelling partner for future space endeavors.
