Biden taps senior DOD nominees
The White House today announced President Biden intends to nominate several individuals for senior Pentagon jobs.
Biden intends to nominate: Brendan Owens to be assistant secretary for energy, installations and environment; Russell Rumbaugh to be Navy comptroller; and Rheanne Wirkkala to be assistant secretary for legislative affairs.
Owens is currently principal of Black Vest Strategy, a consultancy firm focused on the intersection of health, equity, and climate issues in the built environment; Rumbaugh currently analyzes institutional policy at the Center for Space Policy and Strategy at the non-profit Aerospace Corp., while Wirkkala currently serves as the special assistant for strategy to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
